Stock ESP-Miner is great open-source software. The team that built it created something genuinely solid — a reliable, clean firmware for the Bitaxe that gets your miner online and stays out of the way. It works. If you want barebones mining with no frills, the stock firmware does exactly that, and it costs nothing.

LottoAxe OS is a custom fork built on that same GPL foundation. Both firmwares are open-source. Both flash to your device the exact same way, through your browser's OTA update interface. No soldering, no special tools, same process for both. The difference is entirely in what you get on the other side of that flash.

12 Animated Dashboard Themes

The most immediately obvious upgrade is the dashboard. Stock ESP-Miner gives you a clean, minimal interface with your stats on a dark background. It shows what you need to know. LottoAxe OS takes that same data and presents it across 12 fully animated themes that turn your miner's web interface into something you'll actually leave open on a monitor.

Each theme is a complete visual package — unique color palette, animated background effects, styled stat cards, and motion that runs entirely on the ESP32. Current themes include:

Switching themes requires no reflashing and no reboots. Open your miner's web UI, go to Settings, pick a theme, and it applies instantly. You can swap between all 12 as often as you like.

Smart Mining Pause

Sometimes you need to temporarily stop mining without physically shutting the device down. You might be in a hot room in summer and want to kill heat during peak afternoon hours. You might be running scheduled downtime to avoid high electricity rate windows. You might just want to silence the fan while you're on a call. Stock ESP-Miner has no pause feature — your only option is a full power cycle.

LottoAxe OS adds a one-click software pause directly in the dashboard. When paused, the ASIC stops hashing but the device stays on, connected, and ready to resume immediately. Critically, LottoAxe keeps the fan running at a configurable speed during the pause. Even a stopped ASIC holds residual heat, and cutting the fan entirely during a pause can let temperatures spike unexpectedly. You set the pause fan speed in Settings once — it applies automatically every time you pause from that point forward.

Fleet Charts

If you run more than one Bitaxe, stock firmware treats each as a completely separate island. You visit them one at a time, read the numbers, and add them up in your head. There's no aggregate view, no combined stats, no way to see your whole operation at once.

LottoAxe OS's Fleet Charts view pulls your miners together into a single dashboard. You see combined hashrate, historical charts across all devices, and per-device breakdowns side by side. If one miner dips overnight, you see it. If your combined temperature trends up over a week, you see that too. For anyone running two or more units, Fleet Charts alone is worth the upgrade.

Block Probability Meter

The block probability meter shows you the real statistical odds of your device finding a block — daily, weekly, monthly, yearly — based on your current hashrate and the live network difficulty. It doesn't change your odds. It just makes them visible and concrete instead of abstract. Solo mining is a lottery by design, and LottoAxe keeps the odds front and center so you're never guessing.

Is $15 Worth It?

Honest take: if you've ever paid $15 for a phone app, this is an easier call than that. A phone app is typically a recurring subscription disguised as a one-time purchase, running on hardware you replace every two years, that you use for 20 minutes a day.

LottoAxe OS is a genuine one-time purchase that lives on hardware you already own, runs 24 hours a day, and makes that hardware meaningfully more capable and more enjoyable to operate. The $15 doesn't unlock artificial restrictions — it funds continued development of features that didn't exist in the open-source base. If you're already running a Bitaxe, the firmware upgrade is a rounding error compared to what the device itself cost.

If you're happy with stock and never look at your dashboard anyway, stay on stock — it's fine firmware. But if you open your miner's web interface more than a couple of times a week, LottoAxe will make every one of those visits better.
